Make it Priority

By Bill Yerkes
“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
I consider myself to be organized. However, there are times in life when I find myself intentionally letting things go. When life gets crazy, and I just have too much on my plate, it is easy to put certain things on the back burner. Before long, I find myself overwhelmed with too much to juggle, and then suddenly, whatever is on the back burner is boiling over. How do I get it all back together? I prioritize! I determine what needs my attention now and how I can possibly dig myself out of this hole and feel better about myself and my life.
But why did I “intentionally” let things go. Full disclosure: in those moments when I am exhausted and overwhelmed, I think only of myself and how much I need a break and how I just want to feel free of worry. My neglect of the things requiring my attention sets me up for another episode of feeling bogged down and overloaded.
We can say the same in our walk with Christ. When life steals our attention and consumes us with the everyday, sometimes the first to go is quiet time, Bible study, the fellowship of brothers and sisters, and worship. Too much time away from those life-giving habits, can set us up for new habits and routines that damage our relationship with Christ.  Soon, we may find ourselves empty, and void of the purpose for which God created us. So how do we keep it all together? We prioritize! We get back to the heart of our faith by daily seeking Him so we might know Him and be in relationship with Him.
In the midst the chaos of life, I urge you to come back to the heart of our worship. Come back to Jesus.
The Heart of Worship by Michael W. Smith   (excerpt)
I'm coming back to the heart of worship
 And it's all about you,
 It's all about you, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
 When it's all about you,
 It's all about you, Jesus
