OUR
PURPOSE
St.
Johns Youth Ministry exists to "Lead students to Christ,
ignite their hearts to LOVE
GOD
through worship, to build their faith through discipleship, and to
LOVE
OTHERS
through connecting, sharing, and serving".
|
GENERAL
INFORMATION
St. John's features a
dynamic youth ministry that challenges students to have a vital
relationship with Jesus Christ. Under the direction of our youth
pastor, experienced adults aware of the specific needs of
students lead this important area of ministry. This ministry is
designed to guide young people through the moral maze of
questions that arrive with adolescents, and to build them up in
their faith so they might develop as mature Christians and
maintain their identity and a sense of conviction.
IGNITION
Ignition is a time when
students between 6th and 12th grade get
together for worship on Wednesday evenings from 7-7:45 in the
Prayer Chapel. The evening is filled with videos, music, and
cutting edge messages.
D-GROUPS
Our Wednesday
night D-groups are the centerpiece of our youth ministry. This
is where we believe real life change happens and where youth can
connect with seven or eight other students and adults in a
personal way. These groups are very relational and meet every
Wednesday night. Each group is led by trained adult leaders, is
gender and age specific, and involves Bible study, sharing,
praying, and accountability. We have middle school groups for
students in 6th, 7th & 8th grades and high school groups for
students who are in 9th through 12th grades.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
We have Sunday
School classes for all ages every
Sunday at 9:45 AM.
SURGE
Surge is an event
where High School youth meet once a month to hang out, play
games, and enjoy a relevant message. Surge takes place on Sunday
nights from 6-8:00 pm, and provides students an opportunity to
invite friends from their school and community.
FUSION
Fusion is an event
where Middle School youth meet once a month to hang out, play
games, and enjoy a relevant message. Fusion takes place on
Friday nights from 7-9:00 pm, and provides students an
opportunity to invite friends from their school and community.

MISSION TRIPS
Short-term mission trips provide
tangible, age-appropriate opportunities to serve in cross-
cultural situations. We're committed to challenging young people
to serve Jesus Christ at each age level of our program in order
that missions becomes a practical area of their lives.
