WHAT
IS SOCIAL CONCERNS?
The
Social Concerns Ministry is a team of St. John’s people acting as
the hands and feet of JESUS to provide help to those in need in the
community. Some of our programs are described below:
FOOD
BOXES
We
organize the collection and distribution of holiday food boxes at
Easter and Christmas. These boxes are donated by the St. John’s
Congregation and distributed by volunteers.
CHRISTMAS
GIFTS
We
organize the collection and distribution of Christmas Gifts for
needy children under 16. Approximately 350 gifts are donated by the
St. John’s Congregation and distributed by volunteers.
PANTRY
A
pantry which is well stocked with various food items is maintained
12 months per year. The food is provided by our congregation and is
available to people in the community which may be in need.
FOOD
BARREL
Food
for the pantry may be placed in our Food Barrel which is
located in the Family Life Center.
