OUR GUIDING THEME We will provide prayer support and financial assistance to missionary endeavors that strengthen the organized evangelical church at home and abroad, and assimilate new Christians into local congregations. Missions is reaching out. It is the born again Christian community stretching out hands to the eternally lost: to the ignored, to the unloved, to the unevangelized, to the undiscipled across the street and across the sea. It is proclaiming the teachings of Jesus. It is loving unconditionally. It involves using God's spiritual gifts. The heart of missions is the proclamation of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as found in Matthew 28:19-20. GOALS FOR THE MISSIONS PROGRAM 1. To stimulate the intercessory prayer of the congregation for world evangelism and missionary endeavors. 2. To develop congregational involvement in missions and the lives of missionaries. 3. To identify, encourage and prepare potential missionaries. 4. To encourage increased missionary giving. We also lead short term mission trips to various locations around the world for adults and youth. More than thirty missionaries and agencies are supported through St. John's Church.
