A
library loves donations. It shows your love, concern, & care
for the library's growth & usefulness. A library is not a
static thing that is ever "finished". It grows &
evolves in response to the needs of it's patrons, in this
instance, to needs of the St. John's Congregation.
If
you donate a book, video tape, audio tape, record, or magazine,
you are giving the Library Committee permission to use your gift
wisely. Because of space constraints, we only have books, etc.,
with a Christian Basis in circulation. If the donation is
suitable for the church library, we follow this decision path:
1.
Do we have a copy? If not, we keep it.
2.
If we have a copy, we keep the best copy & recycle the
other.
3.
If the item is not suitable for the church library, due to
content, condition, or age, it is recycled.
We
recycle through: donations to worthy groups, mission projects,
yard sales, book dealers, local hospitals, and waiting rooms.
Any monies raised by the library are used to buy new materials.
