The St. John's Student Ministry exists to ignite a love for God and a love for others in the hearts of students.

The ministry is open to all 6th-12th graders regardless of church affiliation or background.  There are a number of different opportunities for students to take advantage of within the Student Ministry.  So invite your friends, family, etc.  There is a place for them here!

LIfe Groups

SUMMER 2017

Day / Time / Location: Vary from group to group

*Summer Life Groups will only run if we have enough students sign up and commit to attending.*

SIGN UP by MAY 10, 2017

Life Groups: The vision for life groups is a place where students focus on Christian Living and application.  It's a time for them to dig into how to live the life Christ calls them to and to share with each other life experiences, celebrations, struggles, and wisdom.  Leaders of life groups are mentors who give scriptural insight and wisdom, provide a safe space for students to share, pray for the students, and exude God's love with a small specific group of youth.

Ignition

WEDNESDAYS

7:00 - 8:30PM

*Ignition will run through May 3 for the Spring.  A summer schedule with Ignition dates will be available soon.*

Ignition: A mid-week time for the pursuit of holiness in our lives.  It is a night where we can come together and deepen relationships, build each other up, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and refocus ourselves on God.

Ignition will feature a variety of programs and activities:

  • Activity-based plans intended to establish connections and grow as a group
  • Study-based plans with relevant topics that teens have or will face
  • Worship, Prayer & Christian Living centered plans that will teach them tools they can use to deepen their relationship with God and others

One of our goals for Ignition is to create programming that can reach out and connect to any student that walks through our doors; from students that have been with us for years to brand new students with no church background or experience.  We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE students to bring their family and friends (6th - 12th grade).  There is a place for them here!

Mission Events

ONCE A MONTH

Time & Location: Varies

Mission Events: These events are outreach events with a goal to reach a specific group of people outside of our Youth Group.  Before each event, we will discuss some goals with the students regarding who we are aiming to reach and how they can be a disciple for Jesus at the event!

On the calendar, the mission events are listed.  As we get closer to each event, more information such as time, location, our goals, and other details will be given out.

---------- UPCOMING MISSION EVENTS ----------

A summer calendar along with upcoming events will be available soon!

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Katie Keith at katiekeith118@gmail.com

RETREATS

Retreats: Retreats are intentional times away to experience a new awareness of the presence of God.  It is a chance for an encounter with God, with other people, with creation, with issues, and with our own hearts.  When we retreat, it is not for the purpose of just getting away and staying away.  Everything involved in getting away, and all that is done while away, involves coming back with a renewed faith and sense of purpose in our spiritual life.  Retreats also deepen the fellowship of our community of students through shared experiences and growing relationships.

COST: There is a cost in order to attend the retreats.  Each retreat is different and therefore the price reflects that.  As the event gets closer an estimated cost will be announced.  Once we have a solid idea of how many students and leaders will be in attendance, the cost will be finalized.

WHEN: Currently we have one retreat in the Fall and one retreat in the Spring with a Mission Trip scheduled in the Summer.  For more information about upcoming retreats, see below.

---------- UPCOMING RETREATS ----------

Information for upcoming retreats will be available here as it becomes available.
