St. JOhn's Men's Ministry

The St. John's Men's ministry engages in a number of activities throughout the year.  Below are some highlights regarding these events as well as contact info if you would like to know more about the ministry.

Chair Team – We currently have 4 teams that rotate setting up and taking down the chairs in the FLC each week. Typically, we set up at 9am on Saturday morning and take down after the 11am service on Sunday. It takes approximately 1 hour each day.

Wednesday Night Dinner – At 7pm on Tuesday Night, we setup tables and chairs and prepare the food for the next night’s dinner. We have been averaging 325 people in attendance for the past 14 years. That said, you can see there is much to do on Tuesday nights. Our motto is: If you show up, we will find a job for you.

Men With a Mission – As the need arises, we organize a group of men to perform various jobs. In the past we have, laid a tile floor, cleaned out a garage, moved fellow parishioners, stained a deck, etc.

Men’s Breakfast – In 2015, we had Cedrick Brown, a defensive back for the Eagles, come out and speak to us after a fabulous breakfast was served.

Men’s Retreat – In 2015, we had a retreat at Eden Resort in Lancaster, PA – Doug Smith brought the message and John Schmid lead the music.

In 2016, we are going to Eden Resort in Lancaster, PA again – Doug Smith will bring the message and Mark Green will lead the music.

Chili Cook off – In 2014 we had a successful event and there are plans in the making for another in 2016.

Deep Sea Fishing Trip – Our trip in 2015 was cancelled but we are looking forward to another chance in 2016.

Golf Tournament – We are planning for a golf tournament for 2016.
